Nylon 66 is polycondensated by hexamethylenediamine and adipic acid. And it is frequently applied with high mechanical strength, rigidity, good stability under heat and chemical resistance. Compared with nylon 6, Nylon 66 have the tighter the hydrogen bonds and the higher the crystallinity. Nylon 66 is more crystalline and more ordered than Nylon 6, so nylon 66 has a higher melting point (its melting point is 40°C higher than nylon 6), slower permeability, stronger deformation resistance, etc. The advantages of Nylon 66 are high temperature resistant, dimensional stability and wear resistance.
Hence Nylon 66 with glass fiber reinforced(pa66gf30) is widely use in automotive parts, like radiator end tanks, rocker covers, intake manifolds, and oil pans. rivet. Also some structural key connector parts such as hinges and ball bearing cages are made by Nylon 66. Other applications like electronic parts-terminal block, slot, motor inner frame, terminal box are all widely made by Nylon 66FR material(PA66 with flame resistance)
For extrusion, the thermal profiles/thermal break use Nylon 66 GF25 according to ISO international standard.
